Branding Redesign
Skyvik Essentials - Branding and Website Redesign
Skyvik is an Indian brand specialising in mobile and content-creation accessories. Its mission is to empower creators by offering reliable, high-quality gear that helps storytellers, artists, and everyday creators express their individuality. In 2024 Skyvik went through a complete rebrand, which I was the design incharge of. The company wanted to reset their target audience from professionals to creators and bring in some fun vibes. The packaging also had to change along with the website and launches of new products.
Starting Off
Research
To make a solid identity, I conducted research before designing. I wanted to understand the existing market and Skyvik's positioning. Research conducted:- - Competitor Analysis - Creating the tagline and Messaging -Banner Explorations - User Personas - Colour Explorations Message: Express the Creator Within Meaning: At Skyvik, we not only cater to photographers but also to anyone who creates. With the new age of technology, everyone is a creator today. For those who want to step out into the world and for those who are already out there, Skyvik’s products are available for all. A community where all kinds of creators can come together and explore how Skyvik’s products will help them channelize and empower their creativity.
Ideation
I was told to start off with the banner design. This would act as a moodboard and allow to see if me and my seniors were on the same page. At this point, the colors were still being finalized so I ideated with the existing color (blue). I later on also experimented with other colours that were being taken into consideration for finalization.
Color Explorations
Creating and teargeting a new audience meant elevating the look. We also wanted consistency between our products and packaging. This required finalizing new colors for the same. My coworker and I propsed that we keep two color schemens. One for SIGNI and one for Essentials including Truhold. Colors I looked at referring to color theory:- 1. Purple 2. Orange 3. Yellow Colors I looked at through intuition:- 1. Teal 2. Golden Bronze
Color Pairings
Alongside the colors, I also had to look at color pairings. I wanted to find a color which would go both with teal and purple. Whilst I was leaning towards a neon green, after all explorations I decided it was best if we stick to a monochrome scheme including black and white.
Website
Homepage
For the website, I initially started working on figma, so I could plan out the whole scroll. I designed each section separately and then worked on making them cohesive. I did a lot of iterations, all of which would not be possible to show here. To see the whole process, you can contact me. But for now, I will stick to finalised versions. The final website was built with Shopify, with the use of Microsoft Clarity for analytics and heatmaps.
Category and Product Pages
Shopify's CMS was the backbone of creating the Category and Product pages. I was new to this concept but my colleague helped me out a lot, and by the end of my tenur,e I had a complete hang of it. With the help of my colleague, I created a couple of pages which were filled by CMS. We added galleries and videos in each product page to showcase the purpose of the lenses. We wanted out customers to be clear on what they are getting and their use cases.
